Breckenridge Brewery: “If you touch it and it’s cold, then it’s cold” - A very nice take on Coor’s “Cold Activated” cans. It’s nice to see some breweries take swipes at some of the RIDICULOUS advertising gimmicks larger beer companies make to get people to drink crappy beer.

CHEERS to you Breckenridge Brewery!

First and foremost Chuck and I would like to start by giving HUGE THANKS to Brandon and Chris yesterday at Iron Fist Brewing. Thanks to them and Holiday Wine Cellar we were afforded the opportunity most homebrewers only dream of, having their beer produced in something larger then 5 Gallon Carboys.

Chuck’s submission of our Raspy Stout in the Holiday Wine Cellar’s 3rd Annual Homebrew Competition landed a first place spot and the opportunity to collaborate with Iron Fist Brewery in turning our Raspy Stout into something we could share with others on a much larger scale.

Yesterday was BrewDay, and I know for Chuck and myself the experience was nothing short amazing. Both Brandon and Chris were tremendously gracious answering just about every question we could throw at them. From “how do you convert a homebrew recipe to large production”? To “what does that valve do?” Even “what is the craziest ingredient you’ve thrown into beer?” We promised we wouldn’t share that one.

Sitting down at the bar and sipping on their Chai Ronny (cleverly named after the Saturday Night Live skit Shy Ronnie) in between boils and swapping stories, talking about brewing was a lot of fun. You walk away from something like this having a greater appreciation for the love, devotion and effort that goes into craft beer at this level, and to be a part of something like this was truly special.

Botteling the Raspy Stout will take place in three weeks, and as soon as we have details on the release party we promise to share them with you here, Facebook, the Twitterverse, and just about any place else we can share it. Chuck and I are truly thankful for having this opportunity and hope this is the first of more to come.

Cheers to you Iron Fist and Holiday Wine Cellar. Thanks for making this happen.

Craft Beer Week Starts Now! May 14-20

Craft Beer Week is upon us! Starting today you should be going out and celebrating the culture and community that craft beer brings not only us beer geeks, but spreading it to those who think that, that other stuff you can buy is actually beer.

Here at 2LiveBrew Chuck and I believe that you can celebrate Craft Beer Week in a variety of ways. If you haven’t tried brewing your own beer, TRY IT! Appreciate that love and effort that goes into making delicious craft beer. While that’s fermenting go out to your local bottle shop, or brewery and try something you’ve never had before. Enjoy the choices you have now days when it comes to beer. It used to not be this way.

If you want to check out what Craft Beer Week is all about. Go to the source CraftBeer.com and learn about the History of how this wonderful event was started, and how you can become more involved in the craft beer movement.

So cheers, go out and enjoy some pints. We will.
